How to work with Activate Encoding

To work with Activate Encoding

Step 1.

  • First of all, you have to choose the Edit tab from the menu bar and select Preferences, and click the Modules icon in the left pane.

  • Check to see if the StdEncodings and the CJKEncodings Modules are selected.

  • If they were not selected, you must select them and click OK. After that restart Go-Live to initialize them.

Step 2.

  • Then choose the Edit tab from the menu bar and select Preferences. After that click the Encoding icon.

Step 3.

  • Select the desired encoding option.

  • Encoding that are not activated will not appear in the Document Encoding submenu.

Step 4.

  • To make an encoding option as adefault, select the name of the option, and then select Default Encoding, or simply double-click the option name. After that the name of the default selection will appear in boldface and underlined.

Step 5.

  • Select Use Char-set Info to include the encoding and character set information in the Content attribute of the Meta tag.

  • When this option is selected, Go-Live will recognize the encoding based on the characters used. Deselect this option to eliminate language information from the HTML page header.

Step 6.

  • Scanning Limit Characters text box is the number of bytes that you want Go-Live to search in order to find encoding and character set information when it opens a file.
