How to add Colors to Text or Object

To add Colors to Text or Object

The Color Palette offers a number of palettes which allows you to paint text and objects. Color the objects by selecting a color in the Palette and then dragging it from the preview pane of the Color Palette to the color field of the Inspector window.

To open the Color Palette:

  1. Choose the View tab from the menu bar and select Color Palette.

  2. Click on the color in the Inspector window.

Color the text or an object:

Step 1.

  • Select the text or object you want to color.

Step 2.

  • In the Color Palette, select a color from the tab of your choice.

Step 3.

  • Drag the color from the preview pane of the Color Palette to the color field in the Inspector window or select text in the document window.

To copy a color from an existing object into the Palette:

Step 1.

  • In the Color Palette, click on the Apple Colors tab, Windows Colors tab, or the Web safe I tab.

Step 2.

  • Move the pointer to any swatch in the Palette, and hold down the mouse button.

Step 3.

  • With the mouse button still down, drag the object that the color you want to copy in the document window. After that the color of object will be copied into the preview pane at the top of the Color Palette.

Step 4.

  • Drag the new color from the preview pane and drop it to any object or in the color field of the Inspector.
