To create a URL Pop-Up

The URL Pop-up item inserts a pop-up menu with Web sites or local pages that offers shortcuts to other locations on the Web. You can add as many destinations as necessary and edit both their labels and their URLs.

To insert and edit a URL pop-up menu:

Step 1.

  • Drag the URL Pop-up icon from the Cyber-Objects tab of the Palette to your document.

Step 2.

  • In the URL Pop-up Inspector, click New to create a new menu item.

Step 3.

  • In the Label text box, enter a label that viewers will see in the pop-up menu.

Step 4.

  • Enter a URL of a site on the Web or the path and filename of a local page, or click Browse and use Point and Shoot to select a destination.

Step 5.

  • Create additional menu items. You can select an item in the list by clicking the Duplicate and then edit the item.

Step 6.

  • To change the position of an item in the pop-up menu, select it in the list box; then use the Up and Down arrow buttons that are next to the scroll bar to shift it to the desired position.

Step 7.

  • To remove an item, select it and press Delete.

Step 8.

  • To make the new URL appear in a frame set, click on the Detail tab of the URL Pop-up Inspector and use the target text box or pop-up menu to specify the window or frame where you want the URL to appear.

Step 9.

  • Preview the pop-up menu in your browser to verify that its links work.
