How to set up a Text Field or Password Field

To set up a Text Field or Password Field

Step 1.

  • Drag the Text Field icon or Password icon from the Forms tab of the Palette to your table cell.

Step 2.

  • You can choose the placeholder in the document window, and then set the options in Form Text Field Inspector or the Form Password Inspector.

Step 3.

  • In the Name text box, you can type in a unique name to identify the Text Field or Password Field.

Step 4.

  • In the Value text box, you can type in the default text that can be overwritten by viewers.

  • Password protection of the Web pages requires processing of user entries through a CGI script on the Web server.

Step 5.

  • In the Visible text box, you can type in the number of visible characters (width of the text box) that viewers will be able to see.

Step 6.

  • In the Max text box, you can type in the maximum number of characters accepted by the text box.
