How to upload & download document by using FTP

To upload & download document by using FTP

You can use the FTP Upload & Download window to connect to an FTP server and copy the files in either direction. But make sure that your access privileges allow you to do so.

To upload or download files using the FTP Upload /Download window:

Step 1.

  • Make sure that you have set up the TCP/IP networking setup correctly on your computer. Consult your modem, ISDN, or network adapter user manual for more information.

Step 2.

  • First of all, you have to choose the File tab from the menu bar and select FTP Upload/Download.

Step 3.

  • In the Server text box in the FTP Upload/Download window, type the FTP address of the Web server that you want to access.

Step 4.

  • In the Directory text box, type in the directory path to your personal folder on the FTP server.

Step 5.

  • Type in the User ID in the User Name text box that the server administrator assigned you.

Step 6.

  • In the Password text box, type in the Personal Password that the server administrator gave you.

Step 7.

  • Click Connect. After connecting to the remote server, it will display the directory on the remote server volume.

Step 8.

  • To download, drag files or folders one at a time from the FTP Upload/Download window to the desktop. To upload, do the reverse.
